When Hot Water Is All You Want.

When you turn on the hot water, you want it to be hot and you want all the hot water you would need.

For showers, washing clothes, washing dishes, a relaxing soak in the tub. So how do you keep it coming with no problems? So what happens when you stop getting it?

First call EPW Services. No one in the Houston area knows more about keeping the hot water flowing than us. The best way to keep the hot water coming is to make sure your water heater is always ready when you are.

How to tell its time to replace your water heater?

If it’s older than 10 years, and has not been serviced annually, it’s living on borrowed time. Time to consider upgrading.

If you hear rumbling and banging sounds coming from your water heater, sediments are building a cement like layer on the bottom of the tank. It will just get bigger and bigger. That ever building layer means more money spent on gas or electricity. That hardened sediment makes your water heater work harder and longer to heat the water the way you want it. This leads to more damage. That ever building layer of sediment is damaging your tank. The rumbling and banging is the sound of the sediment making the tank brittle. A brittle tank causes cracks and soon leaks can develop. Before that happens, replace the water heater. Its time is up.

That’s a sign of a small crack in the tank. As the water in the tank heats the crack expands and water drips out. It’s time for a new unit.

EPW Services now offers the full line of Professional Grade Water Heaters. We now offer 6, 8 and 12 year warranty water heaters with larger sacrificial Anode rods in the 8 year and dual Anode Rods in the 12 year model. These provide a medium for the natural acidity of water to consume, extending the life of the tank.

For our customers with a larger family or just the desire to have an endless supply of hot water, we offer the Navien tankless water heater.

Tankless water heaters heat water only when you demand hot water. They keep supplying hot water until everyone is through demanding it. That means the dishwasher is running while two people are taking a shower and someone else is washing clothes. Everyone gets the hot water they need. Neat, eh? And they are available in gas or electric units.

The key is to get the right unit for your needs. That’s why you need to talk to us.

Navien Tankless Water Heaters Take up very little space.

If space is tight, a Navien Tankless Water Heater is perfect. It takes only 1/4 the space of a tank water heater. You can put them just about anywhere you have a little space available. Just hang it on a wall or locate it in a closet.

It’s easy to add several Navien Tankless Water Heaters in very large homes using a minimum of space.

Navien makes the most efficient water heaters on the planet

A Navien tankless water heater from EPW Services is 98% efficient in its energy usage. The average tankless water heater is around 80% efficient. The average tank unit is about 60% efficient. Navien Tankless Water Heaters also last about twice as long as traditional tank water heaters with regular maintenance.

That’s why we are a Navien dealer. A Navien Tankless Water Heater is the best value for our customers.

Energy requirements

Tankless water heaters are a very efficient way to provide a home with enough hot water to satisfy the needs of a particular home. Due to the fact that tankless units do not maintain a constant temperature to a specific volume of water twenty-four hours a day, they will save you money.

However, when converting to a tankless system there are several issues that have to be addressed for the unit to function properly. Foremost is that the unit must be sized correctly. Secondly, while they are more efficient in the long run, the start up cycle and run cycle require more energy to function than a storage tank type unit.

Traditional Tank Water Heaters

Traditional tank water heaters are probably what you are used to using. They are the most common water heater system in the  Houston area.

And while the buzz is currently for tankless water heaters, they aren’t for everyone. There are a number of benefits to going with a traditional tank water heater.

Hot water needs

Not everyone runs a busy household where hot water is demanded all of the time. Often, a 40 to 50 gallon tank unit holds all of the hot water a home will need for showers, laundry and washing the dishes.

Energy efficiency

The new traditional tank units are more efficient than ever.

We offer systems from A. O. Smith and Bradford White if those fit your needs better.

Cost

The upfront cost of a traditional tank system is much less.
